Currently: I am Operations Manager at Checker Bus in Marquette, MI and also a self-employed photographer. My photography focuses on capturing candid portraits, nature and travel images. At Checker Bus I manage drivers, work on logistics and JIT fleet management, assist with DOT compliance and training of drivers.

Recently: After having been a teacher in 3rd and 6th grades for ten years in the Upper Peninsula, I moved to Lansing and Michigan State University to work on Educational Technology. I was a Ph.D. candidate in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology program (EPET) at Michigan State University. There, I taught CEP416: Teaching and Learning with Technology and also in the summer Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program. My last summer there, 2011, I taught year 2 of the MAET overseas program in Rouen, France. I was featured in the MAET winter 2010 newsletter.

Personal Background: I grew up in Escanaba, Michigan. Before going to NMU and becoming a teacher, I was a photographer and eventually the Photo Editor for the Escanaba Daily Press.

I have a terrific daughter, Alex, who  graduated from the University of Michigan and will be starting her third year in MSU’s Law School this fall.

Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, writing, hiking, playing video games, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, kayaking and spending time with my daughter.
